The Strategic Alliance for Healthy Food and Activity Environments is a coalition of nutrition and physical activity advocates in California. The Alliance believes it is important to shift the debate on nutrition and physical activity away from a primary focus on personal responsibility and individual choice to one that examines corporate and government practices and the role of the environment in shaping eating and physical activity . The Alliance promotes environmental solutions and institutional and government policies and practices that support healthy eating and activity.

The current Steering Committee of the Alliance includes the following organizations:California Adolescent Nutrition and Fitness Program (CANFit), California Center for Public Health Advocacy, California Food Policy Advocates, California Pan-Ethnic Health Network, California Park & Recreation Society, California Project LEAN, California WIC Association, Child Care Food Program Roundtable, Latino Health Access, Partnership for the Public's Health, Prevention Institute, Samuels & Associates, and YMCA of the East Bay.

The Alliance is committed to a membership that reflects the diversity of California and seeks to build an active membership and form partnerships with diverse organizations and individuals throughout California that support the general principles of the Strategic Alliance. By joining the Alliance you will receive periodic updates on activities.
